Individual Note: Harry NEEDLE appears inthe 1901 census as Harry FRANKLIN. He married as Harry NEEDLE to Ann BRANSON but was base-born to Phoebe NEEDLE. However, Phoebe was living next door to FRANKLIN's in both 1861 and 1871. One of them could be the father of Harry - but we cannot establish which one.
We can only assume that Harry found out (circa 1895) that his 'real' father was a FRANKLIN - hence he 'adopted' the name and hence named his children as FRANKLIN. In out records here, we have retained the name NEEDLE-FRANKLIN.
